Alex M. Rivera Athletics Hall of Fame
Louis Breeden received All-MEAC mention three times during his North Carolina Central University career; second-team honors in 1974, and first-team in 1975 and 1976.
He is the Eagles' all-time leader in punt returns, with an average of 20.2 yards per return, and is second to Maurice Spencer in interceptions with a total of 17. (He outranks Spencer in yardage accumulated on interceptions.)
He will begin his eighth season with the Cincinnati Bengals this fall, and has achieved All-Pro honors with the Bengals.

- Ranks fourth among NCCU’s career interceptions leaders with 17 picks for 231 yards
- Led team in interceptions for three straight seasons (1974 with 6 interceptions for 45 yards; 1975 with 7 interceptions for 160 yards and a TD; 1976 with 4 interceptions for 26 yards)
- Holds NCCU record for career punt return average (20.2 yards per return)
- Selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 1977 NFL Draft (seventh round)
- Played 10 seasons (1978-87) in the NFL with the Cincinnati Bengals
- On Nov. 8, 1981, intercepted a pass thrown by San Diego Chargers quarterback Dan Fouts and returned it a team-record 102 yards for a touchdown
- On Jan. 24, 1982, was a starting cornerback for the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl XVI against the San Francisco 49ers
- Named First Team All-Pro in 1982
- Inducted into NCCU Athletic Hall of Fame in 1985
- Selected to the NCCU Centennial 100 Sports Legends in 2009 as one of the top student-athletes in the first 100 years of the institution
