Aaron “Pete” Martin won All-CIAA and most valuable player honors with the North Carolina College Eagles for the 1961 and 1963 seasons. Although he won his recognition as a pass-receiving end, he holds the record for the fifth-longest pass in NCCU history, a 78-yard throw to William Giles against St. Augustine’s in 1962.

He played professional football with the Los Angeles Rams in 1964-66, and with the Philadelphia Eagles from 1966-70. Since 1970 he has been an instructor of physical education in Maryland’s Prince George’s County Schools, and since 1971 has also been manager of the Aquatics Division for the District of Columbia Department of Recreation. He holds a master’s degree in recreation from Howard University.
