Alex M. Rivera Athletics Hall of Fame
Edward B. Boyd, assistant director of parks and recreation for operations in the City of Durham, is one of North Carolina's most experienced sports officials. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from North Carolina College in 1947, and has coached and taught in Florence, S.C., Plymouth, N.C., and Burlington, N.C. He served as a high school athletic official from 1947 to 1977, as a CIAA football and basketball official from 1955 to 1971, and has been an official of the MEAC since 1971. He is currently the MEAC's supervisor of officials.
