2016 MEAC All-Acacdemic Team
NORFOLK, Va. – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference announced that 12 North Carolina Central University student-athletes earned All-Academic honors on Wednesday, May 18.
NCCU landed 12 Eagles on the All-Academic team along with 79 other student-athletes from the other eight MEAC baseball schools.
On the list for NCCU are senior
James Dey, sophomore
Jonathan Figueroa, sophomore
Thomas Gaines, redshirt freshman
Joshua Greene, redshirt junior
Jacobi Harris, redshirt freshman
Carter Kovalcik, junior
Conrad Kovalcik, sophomore
Mitchell McCrary, sophomore
Justice Sampson, sophomore
Devin Sweet, senior
Christian Triplett and senior
Kory Wood.
The MEAC recognizes student-athletes with a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average, including sophomores, juniors and seniors, as well as transfer student-athletes, who have been in residence at the institution for at least one year.
"On behalf of the conference, I would like to offer my congratulations to all of our baseball student-athletes who have maintained a 3.0 or better grade point average during the academic school year," said Commissioner Dr. Dennis E. Thomas. "I would also like to acknowledge the efforts of the institutional and athletic academic support staffs, the coaches and of course the parents who all played a vital role in the success of the student-athletes."
