Biography

2016:  Preseason First Team All-MEAC.  Made 48 appearances and 47 starts.  Slugged .376 with six home runs and seven doubles.  Had seven multi-hit games, including when he went 2-for-4 with a home run and a double for three RBI and two runs scored against Niagara (Feb. 27).

2015:  Named to Capital One Baseball Academic All-District First Team for District 3.  Played 47 games and started 44.  Batted .280 with six home runs, and led the team in doubles with 14, tying the single-season record in the modern era at NCCU.  Slugged .478 with 77 total bases, 27 runs batted in and 27 runs scored.  Recorded 343 putouts at first base with 15 assists and turned 23 double plays.  Hit two home runs over the Green Monster at Fenway Park in Boston against Florida A&M (April 25) going 3-for-5 with three RBI and two runs scored.  Had another three-RBI day against Campbell (May 6) going 3-for-5 with a home run and one run scored.  Had two other three-hit performances to total four for the year, including a 3-for-5 day at North Carolina A&T (April 3) with a double, two RBI and two runs scored.

2014:  Named to 2014 All-MEAC Academic Team.  Played and started in all 53 games.  Ended his sophomore year batting .233 with 41 hits, nine doubles, a team-best seven home runs, and 34 RBI (third on the team).  Finished the season in the top 10 of the MEAC in home runs.  His walk-off home run against Savannah State on March 16 gave the Eagles a crucial series win over the Tigers in conference play.  Fifth on the team with 11 multiple hit games and second on the squad with seven multiple RBI games.  Had the third longest hit streak of the team with eight games.  Recorded six RBIs in the 12-6 victory over Virginia State with his first career grand slam.  In the doubleheader against Virginia State on April 2, he went 4-for-8 with two home runs, a double, three runs scored, and nine RBI.  Went 3-for-3 with a double, two runs scored, and two RBI in the 15-11 victory over Florida A&M.  Committed just seven errors on the year with a .982 fielding percentage in 382 chances. 

2013:  Played in 21 games during his rookie season at NCCU while starting in 17.  Batted .183 at-the-dish with four doubles, three runs scored, and 10 RBI.  Only multi-hit game of the year came against NC A&T where he went 2-for-4 with an RBI.  Went 1-for-4 with a double and four RBI in the 14-0 win over MEAC Champion Savannah State.  Three of his four doubles came in a three-game stretch from March 16-19. 
 
High School (Wilkes Central H.S.): Was a three-time letterman in basketball and baseball.  During his high school tenure, named to the National Honors Society and the National Society of High School Scholars.
