DURHAM, N.C. – Manuela Cripa Nasser of North Carolina Central was named MEAC Volleyball Setter of the Week on Monday after directing the Eagles to two victories.
Cripa Nasser started last week with 39 assists, 10 digs, two block assists and two aces to spark the Eagles to a 3-1 road win over Radford of the Big South Conference on Monday. Four days later, the NCCU setter finished with 51 assists, seven digs and four kills to help the Eagles slip past defending MEAC champion Delaware State 3-2 at home on Friday.
Cripa Nasser topped her season high in assists on Sunday in a 3-2 home loss to Maryland Eastern Shore. She amassed 53 assists to go with seven digs, one block and four kills in the match.
In four matches, Cripa Nasser accumulated 165 assists and 28 digs, including 22 assists along with four digs and three kills in a 3-0 loss to Elon on Wednesday.
The NCCU setter is currently second in the MEAC in assists per set. She ranks among the top 10 in the conference in digs per set.
