DURHAM, N.C. – Aniah Bass totaled nine kills and
Shalyn Bell added six kills and 12 digs for North Carolina Central in a three-set volleyball loss (16-25, 13-25, 20-25) to UNC Asheville at McDougald-McLendon Arena on Tuesday.
Bass posted a .412 hitting percentage for the Eagles, who played the first of four scheduled matches this week.
Breylan Fairley finished with 16 assists,
Lusiana Damuni contributed nine assists and
Jayla Egerton chipped in seven digs.
NCCU (2-3 overall) dropped the first two sets before coming alive in the third set. A service ace by
Breylan Fairley put the Eagles ahead 15-8 but the Bulldogs (7-1 overall) rallied to win the set for the sweep.

The Eagles will take a day off before visiting archrival North Carolina A&T on Thursday, Sept. 10, at 6 p.m. in Greensboro, N.C. The A&T match will be the second of four this week for NCCU.
