DURHAM, N.C. – North Carolina Central begins a stretch of four volleyball matches in five days, including three in a row, starting with UNC Asheville at McDougald-McLendon Arena on Tuesday, Sept. 8, at 6 p.m.

After hosting UNC Asheville, the Eagles (2-2 overall) will visit archrival North Carolina A&T in Greensboro, N.C., on Thursday, Sept. 10, then return home against USC Upstate on Friday, Sept. 11. NCCU is back on the road Saturday, Sept. 12, to square off against UNC Greensboro.

First serve for all three matches is at 6 p.m.

Several Eagles are off to impressive starts two weeks into the season. Allyson Rouse leads the MEAC in hitting percentage (.391) and Morgan Wingo is fourth (.318). Talia Emmen ranks fourth in the conference in kills per set (2.93), fifth in points per set (3.27) and eighth in digs (2.73).

Breylan Fairley is tied for second in the MEAC in service aces (12) and fifth in assists per set (5.56) while Rouse is eighth in blocks per set (1.06). Jayla Egerton ranks ninth in digs per set (2.25).

UNC Asheville (6-1 overall), riding a five-match win streak, will make its first road appearance of the season against the Eagles. Addie Brookbank (3.33) and Sarah Wadsworth (3.13) are the team leaders in kills while Wadsworth leads the Big South Conference in service aces (18) followed by Elise Jensen (13).

North Carolina A&T (4-2 overall) is sparked by Tyne Ross, who leads the CAA in kills per set (3.91). Ross ranks second in points per set (4.59).

USC Upstate (3-2 overall) is led by four players. Summer Kohler is second in the Big South Conference in kills per set (3.85) and points per set (4.20) while Kamyla Vega David leads the league in assists per set (9.20). Tien Murray ranks second in blocks per set (1.20) and Sophia Overholt is second in digs per set (4.80).

UNC Greensboro (3-2 overall) has won its last two matches. Allie Sweet is tied for first in the Southern Conference in kills per set (4.42) and Izora Gragg leads the league in assists per set (10.68).

This week marks the second and third time the Eagles will host a Big South Conference team (UNCA, UNC Upstate) this season. NCCU will face a CAA opponent (A&T) and Southern Conference foe (UNCG) for the first time this season.
