DURHAM, N.C. – The North Carolina Central University baseball program will finish up its 12-game road trip with a four-game series at North Carolina A&T that will begin on Friday, April 30 at War Memorial Stadium in Greensboro, North Carolina.
 
NCCU and NCAT are 4-4 against each other in two series this year in Greensboro and Durham.  This is the final time the Eagles and Aggies are scheduled to meet in the regular season.

Scouting the Eagles:
NCCU has an overall record of 16-15, and are 8-8 in MEAC play.  The last time the Eagles and Aggies met, NCCU blasted seven home runs in a four-game set in Durham, and the Eagles currently have the second-most dingers in the league with 22.  NCCU is also second in slugging percentage at .387, and in on-base percentage at .381.
 
Junior reliever 
Scott Meylan (Pittsburg, Calif.) leads the league and is 12th in NCAA Division I in saves with seven, and was recently named to the NCBWA Stopper of the Year Midseason Watchlist.  Starters 
Ryan Miller (Blandon, Pa.) and 
Austin Vernon (Raleigh, N.C.) remain atop the MEAC in ERA, opposing batting average, and strikeouts.  Vernon is 33rd in the nation in strikeouts with 73, and is sixth in strikeouts-per-nine innings with a 14.93 rate.  Miller is currently third in the nation in wins with seven, and 45th with a 0.96 WHIP.
 
Kokko Figueiredo (Fortuna, Calif.) is currently ranked top-10 in the MEAC in batting average at .309, and is tied for the team lead with 22 RBI.  He's also hit seven doubles and two home runs for a .427 slugging percentage, and has the third-highest on-base percentage at .412.  
Luis DeLeon (Providence, R.I.) is the other Eagle with 22 RBI, and has a total of 13 extra base hits with eight doubles, three triples, and two home runs.
 
Scouting the Aggies:
NCAT is 15-27 overall with a 10-10 mark in league play.  The Aggies are the only team ahead of the Eagles in home runs with 29, and also lead the MEAC in hits (336) and runs scored (226).
 
NCAT has two batters who are hitting over .300, led by Justin Rodriguez (Farmingdale, N.Y.) with a .305 average.  He also has a .500 slugging percentage with eight doubles and five home runs, and has 32 RBI to tie for the team lead with Justin Williams (Charlotte, N.C.).  Williams is batting .303 with a team-best total of 44 hits, and also leads his squad in home runs with six.  He also has seven doubles for a .476 slugging percentage.
 
Cole Parks (Huntersville, N.C.) is one of the top arms in the rotation for the Aggies with a 4-2 record and one complete game.  He has kept a 3.32 ERA in 43.1 innings of work with 46 strikeouts.  Evan Gates (Roseville, Mich.) has the third-most strikeouts in the MEAC with 60 in 17 appearances and one start, and he also has three saves under his belt.
