Box Score Box Score DURHAM, N.C. – Morehead State University tied a school record with 29 hits, including 17 extra-base hits, to cruise to a 24-4 victory over North Carolina Central University on Saturday inside Durham Athletic Park.

James Dey ripped a two-run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning, the host Eagles were trailing 20-0. NCCU (0-2) added two unearned runs that frame, but the rest of its portion of the scoreboard were zeros.
Morehead State (2-0), on the other hand, plated at least two runs in every inning but the seventh and ninth. The visitors from Kentucky notched seven runs before NCCU even stepped to the plate.
MSU broke the school record with nine doubles, while adding two triples and six home runs. Morehead State junior third baseman Alex Stephens hit for the cycle in his first four at-bats with four RBI and three runs scored. Matt Anderson pitched 5.1 scoreless innings with five strikeouts to pick up the victory.
