NCCU Women’s Tennis Receives ITA All-Academic Team Distinction

TEMPE, Ariz. – The North Carolina Central women's tennis team was recognized for its academic achievements during the 2025 season, announced as an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team.

The Eagles were one of 222 Division I programs to receive this honor. To qualify, teams must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or above. Women's tennis finished the year with a cumulative GPA of 3.45, including the second-highest spring GPA in the athletic department (3.70).

In addition to the team award, Valeria San Miguel Soria, Alejandra Hidalgo Vega, Mariana Zottoli, Patricia Palencia, Gabriela Mejia Arenas and Valentina de Aquino Monsanto were named ITA Scholar-Athletes. These six Eagles held a GPA of 3.5 or higher for the academic year along with 1,456 other student-athletes.
