Hutchison Named To All-NEC Team, A First For NCCU Golf

BRIDGEWATER, N.J. – Jamal Hutchison was rewarded for his stellar play during the 2024-25 men's golf season on Tuesday.

The North Carolina Central sophomore landed a spot on the 2025 All-Northeast Conference (NEC) second team, becoming the first Eagles golfer to make the 10-player squad since NCCU joined the conference in men's golf in the 2022-23 season.

Hutchison, from Fletcher, N.C., was the top scorer for the Eagles, averaging 73.1 strokes per round and claiming seven top 20 finishes including a victory in the Arcis HBCU Championship with a 4-under 176 through 45 holes. The NCCU golfer tied for sixth at the NEC Championship - which was 10 places better than a year ago - to make the All-Tournament team.

The NEC All-Conference and All-Tournament selections were two of several honors Hutchison collected during the season. He was named NEC Men's Golfer of the Week twice during the spring. His 73.1 stroke average tied for fourth lowest in the NEC.
