DURHAM, N.C. – North Carolina Central is back in Ellicott City, Md., this weekend to compete in the NEC Men's Golf Championship, which takes place Friday through Sunday at Turf Valley Resort.
Last weekend, the Eagles placed a program-best third in the NEC Women's Golf Championship at the same site. This time, it's the men's turn to vie for a conference title in the three-day, 54-hole event.
NCCU is part of a 12-team field which includes Binghamton, Chicago State, Fairleigh Dickinson, Howard, Le Moyne, Long Island, Maryland Eastern Shore, Mercyhurst, New Haven, Saint Francis and Wagner.
The Eagles will roll out a lineup featuring
Jamal Hutchison,
Nico Tucker,
Kyle Gregory,
Kobe Narcisse,
Hershal Patel and
Christian Fisher. Hutchison, an All-Conference pick a year ago, leads the Eagles with a 74.1 adjusted scoring average. In last year's NEC Championship, Hutchinson tied for sixth on the way to earning All-Tournament honors.
Hutchison is among three Eagles averaging in the 70s. Tucker averages 76.9 while Patel has a 79.1 average.
