NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The North Carolina Central men's golf team played in the Surf Club Invitational on Monday (March 10) and Tuesday (March 11).
Jamal Hutchison was the Eagles' top individual golfer at the tournament, played on the par 71, 6,604-yard course layout at the Surf Golf and Beach Club. He shot a seven-over par 149 (75-74) to tie for 47
th place with 11 other golfers. One hundred and eight (108) golfers competed in the tournament.
NCCU placed 17
th out of 17 squads in the team standings. The Eagles fired a 66-over par 634 (313-321). Longwood shot a one-under 567 (282-285) to beat host Appalachian State, which fired a two-over 570 (284-286) to place second.
The tournament was originally scheduled for three rounds but was shortened to two rounds due to rainy conditions.
