SOMERSET, N.J. – Jamal Hutchison of North Carolina Central was named Northeast Conference co-men's golfer of the week and prime performer on Wednesday, Feb. 19.

Hutchison is off to a good start in the spring season. He fired a two-under par 142 to tie for 20^th out of 84 golfers in The Savannah Intercollegiate this past weekend.

The sophomore golfer started Saturday morning with an even-par 72 in the first round. He followed up with a two-under par 70 in the second round later that day. The third round was canceled Sunday due to rainy weather.

Hutchison and his teammates are back on the golf course Feb. 23-24 in the Arcis HBCU Championship in Weston, Fla.
