CARY, N.C. – North Carolina Central turned in a strong performance at the SAS Championship HBCU Invitational, placing second in the women's field and third among the men's Division I teams at Prestonwood Country Club on Sunday, Oct. 12.
 
Sanaa Carter and Aubree Clements paced the Eagles' women, who secured second place in the five-team field. Carter was the Eagles' top individual performer, placing third with an eight-over 218 over three rounds in the two-day tournament. Clements, who finished eighth, carded an 18-over 228 as the Eagles (907) outshot third-place Alabama State (924) by 17 strokes.
 
Jamal Hutchison and Mateo Zolezzi guided the Eagles' men to third place out of six teams. Both golfers finished among the top four individually with Hutchson earning runner-up honors with a two-under 208 and Zolezzi taking fourth with a three-over 213.
 
Below are the team results and NCCU individual results. Thirty (30) men's golfers and (25) women's golfers participated in their respective tournaments.
