NORFOLK, Va. – Freshman
Kennedy Hill posted a 2-0 singles record for North Carolina Central University on the way to being named MEAC Women's Tennis Player and Rookie of the Week as announced by the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference on Wednesday, Feb. 16.
Hill, who resides from Tyrone, Georgia, collected her first two collegiate dual-match victories playing in the second spot in the Eagles' lineup.
To begin the week, Hill rallied to defeat senior Ariana Chan from UNCG by a score of 6-7 (5), 6-1, 6-0 on Wednesday. Hill followed that up with a 6-4, 7-5 straight-set triumph over junior Brinley Bell from UNCW on Saturday.
Of note, freshman
Isabelle Exsted also went 2-0 in singles last week for NCCU, winning her No. 4 singles matches over the Spartans and Seahawks.
Hill and Exsted lead the maroon and gray with matching 2-1 singles records.
NC Central will next play at Wake Forest University on Saturday, Feb. 19 at 3 p.m.
