DURHAM, N.C. – The North Carolina Central University baseball program will play its second of three consecutive road series at Florida A&M for a four-game set from April 23-25 at Moore-Kittles Field in Tallahassee, Florida.
NCCU and FAMU were scheduled to meet earlier in the season from April 1-3, however that series was postponed. Currently, the Eagles and Rattlers are scheduled to meet again in Durham to end the season on May 13-15.

Scouting the Eagles:
NCCU is currently 14-13 and 6-6 in MEAC play after splitting two series with North Carolina A&T, and a road set with Delaware State last weekend. As a team, NCCU is batting .275 with a .421 slugging percentage against MEAC competition, and have hit 20 doubles and 11 home runs in 12 games.

Chet Sikes (Trinity, N.C.) has remained hot through the last few weekends and is now tied for fifth in the MEAC with a .333 batting average, and is also tied for third with seven doubles. Teammate
Kokko Figueiredo (Fortuna, Calif.) is eighth in the league with a .313 batting average, and is hitting .390 against MEAC opponents. Figueiredo has collected 10 RBI in 12 league games with three doubles and two home runs, and is slugging an impressive .610.
The Eagles' pitching staff has remained a strength for the team as
Ryan Miller (Blandon, Pa.) leads the league in ERA at 1.84, and
Austin Vernon (Raleigh, N.C.) sits third with a 2.68 mark. Vernon leads the league in strikeouts with 62, and Miller is fourth with 45.
Shawn Runey (Daniel Island, S.C.) holds the seventh-best opposing batting average at .279 following his near one-hitter against Delaware State, and has tossed the eighth-most innings in the conference with 35.2.
Scouting the Rattlers:
Florida A&M has an 11-23 overall record, and is currently leading the MEAC Southern Division with a 7-5 mark. The Rattlers were just recently in the Tar Heel State to visit North Carolina A&T last weekend, April 16-18, and the Aggies won the series, 3-1, to extract revenge for a sweep in Tallahassee on March 26-28.
L.J. Bryant (Leesburg, Ga.) paces FAMU offensively, and he has a team-best .314 batting average with 33 hits. He has seven doubles, one triple, and two home runs for a .457 slugging percentage, and has driven in 22 RBI. Senior utility player Jared Weber (Wakulla, Fla.) has been reliable throughout his career at FAMU, and this season he has supplied the power with five home runs and four doubles to also drive in 22 RBI with a .432 slugging percentage.
Kelyn Fox (Bartow, Fla.) leads the line for the FAMU rotation with a 4-1 record in eight appearances and five starts, and has a team-high 29 strikeouts in 41.2 innings pitched. Zach Morea (Tallahassee, Fla.) has had his name called most often from the bullpen for the Rattlers with 19 appearances, and has pitched 34.1 innings with 16 strikeouts with a 2-0 record. Chancellor Benton (Melbourne, Fla.) has been tabbed as the team's closer, and he has four saves to stand third in the MEAC.
