DURHAM, N.C. — The North Carolina Central University volleyball team will start the second half of its Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) schedule with a road trip to the Charm City for clashes at Morgan State University (Friday, 4 p.m.) and Coppin State University (Sunday, 1 p.m.).

NC CENTRAL COURT:
The Eagles are coming off a 3-1 home victory over Norfolk State University on Sunday. NCCU (5-11 Overall, 4-3 MEAC) is in a three-way tie for third place in the league standings with Coppin State and University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
A trio of Eagles were recognized with weekly MEAC awards this week, including sophomore
Lauren Janok collecting her third MEAC Setter of the Week award. Janok lead the conference with 8.66 assists per set, while also chipping in 2.92 digs, 0.64 blocks and 0.40 aces per set.
Senior outside hitter
Arlanda Faulkner, who provided a 20-point performance in Sunday's win against CSU, was tabbed MEAC Co-Player of the Week. Faulkner is supplying the Eagles with an average of 2.88 kills per set. Classmate
Ammaarah Williams leads the maroon and gray with 3.68 points per set, including team-best averages of 2.94 kills and 0.91 blocks per set.
Senior middle blocker
McKayla Young recorded seven blocks against Coppin State on the way to earning MEAC Defensive Player of the Week. Young is second on the team with 0.85 blocks per set as both Williams and Young rank in the top-10 of the MEAC in blocking.
NCCU got its first win in its DI era against Morgan State last month, tallying a 3-1 home victory on Sept. 24 as the Eagles improved to 1-3 against the Bears in the modern era. The Eagles also leveled their DI record against Coppin State to 5-5 with a 3-2 conquest on Sept. 26.
MORGAN STATE COURT:
The Bears have lost their last five matches, including a 3-1 road loss at Maryland Eastern Shore in their last match Sunday. Morgan State (3-18 Overall, 1-6 MEAC) is in seventh place in the conference standings.
Freshman outside hitter Madison Grace has taken over the top attack position for the Bears and she ranks second in the MEAC with 3.30 kills per set. Junior setter Mackenzie Jefferson is setting up MSU attack with 7.15 assists per set (fourth best in the MEAC) while also leading the squad with 0.38 aces per set. Junior libero Jadore Hayes is providing a team-best 3.64 digs per set.
COPPIN STATE COURT:
The Eagles of Coppin State suffered a 3-0 setback in their last match at Delaware State University on Sunday. CSU (10-9 Overall, 4-3 MEAC) enters the weekend tied with NCCU and will host South Carolina State University on Friday before hosting NC Central on Sunday.
Three-time All-MEAC honoree senior outside hitter Miajavon Coleman sparks CSU's attack. Coleman leads the MEAC with 3.54 kills per set and her 11.61 attempts per set is in the top-30 nationally. Junior Paola Caten follows with 2.85 kills per set. Junior transfer setter Andrea Tsvetanova is second in the conference behind Janok with 8.45 assists per set in her first season at CSU, and she also leads the Eagles with 0.43 aces per set. Junior libero Ashley Roman is the MEAC Preseason Player of the Year after garnering MEAC Defensive Player of the Year laurels last season. Roman continues her dominance of the back row, leading the league and ranking 31st nationally with 4.90 digs per set.
