NORFOLK, Va. — Junior transfer
Miles Clark was announced as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Week on Wednesday, Jan. 29, after going 3-1 on the week for the North Carolina Central University men's tennis team.
Clark picked up one of NCCU's two singles wins on the week in a 6-3, 7-6 (3) triumph over UNC Asheville's Quinn Fender.
Playing at the No. 5 position in the Eagles' lineup, Clark nearly went undefeated on the week as his first singles match against East Carolina University went three sets before he eventually lost in a super set tiebreaker by a final margin of 1-6, 6-1, 0-1 (7-10).
Clark partnered with sophomore
Amit Baran for a flawless 2-0 doubles record. The duo played on court three in each match, defeating the Pirates 7-6 (5) and the Bulldogs 7-5.
The Rancho Cucamonga, California, native transferred to NCCU at the beginning of the spring semester after competing two seasons at Riverside City College.
NC Central will next play at Elon University on Friday, Feb. 7 at 2 p.m.
