Eagles Fall to North Carolina A&T

DURHAM, N.C. – North Carolina Central University and North Carolina A&T spent the last six minutes of the contest separated by no more than six points, however the Aggies were able to hold the Eagles at bay for a 51-48 final score at McDougald-McLendon Arena on Saturday, Jan. 26.
 
The entire game was tightly contested, even though it got off to a slow start in the first half.  In the opening stanzas NCCU (9-11, 4-2 MEAC) and NC A&T (11-9, 6-0 MEAC) traded buckets and the game was tied four times.  However, the Aggies were eventually able to get ahead and take a 31-26 lead to the intermission.
 
In the closing four minutes the Eagles were able to pull within four points on four separate occasions, however the Aggies were able to make free throws down the stretch to hang on for a 51-48 win.
 
Randy Miller Jr. (Odenton, Md.) scored over 20 points for a second consecutive game as he poured in a game-high 21 points with seven rebounds, and Raasean Davis had a second-straight double-double with 12 points and 15 rebounds.  Jordan Perkins (Greensboro, N.C.) handed out a joint game-high seven assists for the maroon and gray.
 
Ronald Jackson (Clay County, Fla.) led the Aggies with a team-high 16 points and six boards, and Kameron Langley (Greensboro, N.C.) joined Perkins with seven assists with five points tacked on.
 
The Eagles will now be on the road for three-straight games, starting on Monday, Jan. 28 at Savannah State.
