Jordan Bohannon has been named the NCCU Student-Athlete of the Month for July 2016 in recognition of his outstanding accomplishments on the course and in the classroom.
A native of Southfield, Michigan, Bohannon helped lead NCCU to the program's best finish at the PGA Minority Collegiate Championship on the Division I level. Back on May 8, the Eagles posted a team score of 306 to move into fourth place at the 30th annual event. Since reclassifying to NCAA Division I, NCCU's previous best finish at the PGA Minority Collegiate Championship was a tie for fifth place in 2009.
Bohannon carded an even-par final round of 72 for a total score of 227 (80-75-72), placing fifth in the Division I individual leaderboard. Bohannon's 38 pars recorded during the three-round PGA event were the most in the Division I field.
He completed his sophomore campaign with a team-best scoring average of 76.6, including a low round of 71 at the Donald Ross Intercollegiate event in October 2015.
In his first two years at NCCU, Bohannon has accumulated a 3.39 overall grade point average as a business administration major with a concentration in finance. He is also a member of the NCCU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and the Dean's Undergraduate Advisory Council.
