DURHAM, N.C. – North Carolina Central University will tie up the regular season with a game against Charleston Southern University for Senior Day on Wednesday, May 11 at the Durham Athletic Park.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m., and seven Eagle seniors will be honored before the game.
NCCU (24-27, 11-13 MEAC) met Charleston Southern (16-29, 4-14 Big South) earlier in the year, and the Buccaneers took that contest 9-6 in South Carolina on March 8.
One of those seniors is
James Dey (Charlotte, N.C.) who is currently hitting at a career-best rate of .320. Dey has ripped 12 total extra base hits with seven doubles and five homers for 24 RBI. He has also made 14 appearances from the bullpen with a 3.50 ERA and picked up his first career save earlier in the year against Longwood University. He has been strong over 18 innings pitched with 26 strikeouts and just eight hits allowed.
Chris Singleton (Goose Creek, S.C.) has had a strong season for the Buccaneers as he is hitting .345 with a team-high 33 RBI. Singleton has knocked 10 doubles, four homers, and a triple and he leads his team in slugging percentage at .488. He is tied for second on the club with an on base percentage of .402, and second in total hits with 58.
