Box Score NORFOLK, Va. - North Carolina Central University swiped four bases, and sophomore starter 
Devin Sweet (Greensboro, N.C.) struck out seven as the Eagles defeated defending regular-season champion Norfolk State University on Wednesday, March 2 at Marty Miller Field.  
NCCU (5-4) went down 2-0 after the first inning to NSU (3-6), but timely hitting from 
Conrad Kovalcik (Detroit, Mich.) and Tom Prospero (Batavia, N.Y.) knotted the game at 2-2 in the top of the third.  The Eagles took the lead in the top of the fifth after an attempted double play didn't come through, and 
Carlos Ortiz (Cleveland, Ohio) touched home.  
NCCU went on to tack on three more runs to get the win.  Kovalcik went 1-for-3 at the plate with a double and an RBI, and Ortiz went 2-for-4 with a run scored.  
Justice Sampson came in for the ninth inning and recorded his second consecutive save after Myles Marshall (Orlando, Fla.) was caught stealing to end the game. 
NCCU has now won five of its last six games, and will look to keep the momentum going against NJIT this weekend at the Durham Athletic Park as the Highlanders come in for a three game series beginning Saturday, March 5 at 1:00 p.m.
