n Athletic Conference (MEAC) Women's Tennis Championships at the Cayce Tennis and Fitness Center Thursday. The fourth-seeded Lady Eagles from the Southern Division advance to the semifinals for the second time in three years after knocking off the Northern Division regular season champs.
NCCU (9-14 Overall) – winners of four of their last five matches – will play No. 2 (S) seed South Carolina State University in the semifinals on Friday at 8:30 a.m. The Lady Bulldogs edged the Lady Eagles, 4-3, in the two programs first meeting in the regular season.
All four teams from the Southern Division won their quarterfinals showdowns over the Northern Division and top-seeded Bethune-Cookman will play third-seeded Florida A&M in the other semifinal Friday.
After winning the top two doubles matches, the Lady Eagles received more strong play atop their lineup to secure the triumph. Junior
Aissa Muamba led the way with a 6-4, 6-4 conquest in the marquee match. Muamba leads NCCU with a 17-6 singles record.

Rebecca Wood and
Ekaterina Nekrasova followed with straight-set wins in the second and third positions, respectively, in the Lady Eagles lineup. Wood (13-9) cruised 6-1, 6-1 and Nekrasova (16-7) gutted out a 7-6 (3), 6-3 conquest.
Nekrasova was named First Team All-MEAC and Muamba was selected to the Second Team All-MEAC on Wednesday and they continued their impressive season's day later with wins in the conference tournament.
Wood and Nekrasova teamed up for an easy 8-3 win in the middle doubles match before Muamba and junior
Mia Ramic secured the first team point winning an 8-6 battle in the top flight.
Howard (7-7 Overall) was eliminated despite getting singles wins by No. 4 Jessica Josiah and No. 6 Sajela Harlow.
