CAYCE, S.C. – The North Carolina Central University women's tennis team's 2014 season came to a close as the Lady Eagles bowed out of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Championship in the first round after dropping a 4-2 decision to the No. 1 seed from the northern division, Howard Lady Bison on Thursday, April 17 in Cayce, S.C.

Lynsey Cover and
Tamara Jeremic were defeated by Umarah Mughnee and Stacey Roheman, 8-5.
Howard sealed the doubles points after a close battle at the No.2 spot was won by HU's Maame Osei and Jessica Josiah taking down NCCU's
Aissa Muamba and
Mia Ramic 8-7 (6-0).
The Lady Eagles earned their singles victories as Muamba retired Mughnee at the No. 2 (6-3, 6-4) and Nekrasova knocked off Roheman (6-3, 6-2) at the No. 3 spot.
NCCU dropped the No. 1, 4 and 5 matches as the Lady Bison earned the 4-2 victory, advancing to the MEAC semifinal round.
The Lady Eagles finished their 2014 campaign 5-13 overall with a 2-3 record in league play.
