Series History:
After dropping two straight games, NC Central looks to bounce back as the Eagles finish out their regular-season road trip this weekend. Though NCCU defeated Delaware State and Maryland Eastern Shore already this season, both squads defeated the Eagles at home last season. The Maroon & Gray lead both series, up 48-19 over DSU and 38-19 ahead of UMES.

Scouting Delaware State: DSU is currently on a five-game losing streak, going 1-10 in conference play so far this season. The Hornets are .500 at home, with a 5-5 record at Memorial Hall. James Ponce and Miles Webb lead the Hornets. Ponce is their leading scorer at 13.9 points per game and Webb grabs 5.8 rebounds per game.

Scouting Maryland Eastern Shore: UMES is 4-7 in MEAC action, 8-20 overall. The Hawks are on a seven-game losing streak after starting conference play at 4-0. Zion Obanla and Joseph Locandro lead the Hawks in scoring at 10.6 and 9.0 points, respectively. Obanla is also the team's top rebounder at 5.6 boards per game. The Hawks are second in the MEAC in scoring defense, holding opponents to 71.1 points per game.

Final Stretch: All eight MEAC teams are in the final stretch of the regular season, each with three games remaining. Two of those games for NCCU will be on the road at Delaware State and Maryland Eastern Shore. The finale features a visit from South Carolina State at McDougald-McLendon Arena on March 5. The game will be broadcast live on ESPNU.

Road Woes: The Eagles have struggled on the road all season, sitting at 2-12 away from home. NC Central closed out last season, finishing 2-13 on the road. The Eagles had a successful business trip to Baltimore in January, defeating Morgan State and Coppin State for their only wins outside of the Nest. NCCU has turned it around before, going 4-12 on the road in 2019 before winning the MEAC Basketball Tournament that season.
