NCCU Champagne Cheerleaders To Perform at Charlotte Hornets Game On HBCU Day

DURHAM, N.C. – The North Carolina Central Champagne cheerleaders will showcase their dynamic routines at a Charlotte Hornets game on Saturday, Feb. 28.

The Champagne cheerleaders will be part of the Charlotte Hornets HBCU Day celebration during the Hornets' NBA contest against the Portland Trail Blazers inside the Spectrum Center at 1 p.m. The squad, including NCCU mascot Eddie the Eagle, will take the floor during first half timeouts alongside the Charlotte Honey Bees dance team including mascot Hugo the Hornet. They will also participate in T-shirt tosses and other game-day activities.

"I'm thrilled that our students have the chance to showcase their talent on this stage," NCCU Cheerleading and Mascot Coach La'Tasha Bynum said. "This platform not only highlights North Carolina Central University but also brings well-deserved visibility to HBCU cheerleading."
