Eagle Pride Amplified! We are so excited that you are interested in trying out for the North Carolina Central University Junior Varsity Cheerleading Team. Tryouts will be held on Sunday, August 28, 2022, in the McDougald-McLendon Arena from 10am-4pm. Check-in will begin promptly at 10am. Q&A: 
Who is eligible for tryouts? 
All young women and men who are CURRENTLY ENROLLED at NCCU are eligible to participate in this tryout process.  
What is the attire during the tryout process? 
Both men and women are to wear ALL BLACK attire. Women should wear cheer shorts, sports bra, white socks, and cheer shoes. Men should wear black shorts, black t-shirt, white shoes, and white socks. 
What will the tryout process consist of? 
Part 1. Young ladies and men participating in the first phase of tryouts will bring in and present a cheer and dance routine of their own. Part 2. Individuals who make the first-round cuts, will advance to the second phase of tryouts where they will learn a cheer and dance routine. Final selections will be made on August 28th.
 
Are the tryouts for a particular Cheerleading Squad? 
Yes, this tryout process is ONLY for the JV Cheer Squad.  
 
INDIVIDUALS THAT ARE CLASSIFIED AS SOPHOMORES, JUNIORS AND/OR SENIORS MUST HAVE A CUMULATIVE GPA OF 2.3 OR HIGHER IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE IN TRYOUTS.
