DURHAM, N.C. – North Carolina Central University junior cheerleader
Morgan Parham has been named the NCCU Student-Athlete of the Month for June 2023 in recognition of her outstanding performance on the sidelines, in the classroom and in the community.
Parham is a local Raleigh, North Carolina, resident and she is in her third season as a member of the NCCU varsity cheerleading squad. She received an Eagle Excellence Academic Award for her commitment to both academics and athletics in the 2022-23 season.
The Cheatham-White Scholar was the vice president of the Honors Student Council last year while completing 40 hours of community service and engagement over that span. Parham has volunteered as a tutor at the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club after school program and she also helped make and deliver cards to senior living homes.
Parham boasts a 3.93 cumulative grade point average (GPA) as a nursing major at NCCU. She plans to work as either a pediatric nurse or a labor and delivery nurse after completing her education.
