NORFOLK, Va. – Khouri Carvey of North Carolina Central's men's basketball team claimed his third MEAC Defensive Player of the Week award, announced by the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference on Monday.
Carvey ended 2025 with a 13-point, nine-rebound performance at Penn State on Dec. 29 and opened the new year with a double-double of 24 points and 11 rebounds against Norfolk State on Jan. 3. His stat line showed an average of 18.5 points and 10.0 rebounds through both games.
The senior swatted the ball twice versus the Spartans, grabbing six defensive rebounds. Carvey averaged 60.0 percent from the field and 70.0 percent from the free-throw line.
In the conference, Carvey is fifth in scoring (14.8) and first in rebounding (7.2), blocks (1.2) and field goal percentage (.582).
