NORFOLK, Va. – For the fourth time this season, Khouri Carvey has been named the MEAC Defensive Player of the Week, announce by the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference on Monday afternoon.
Last week, Carvey averaged 15.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in two games. At Morgan State, the senior finished with 21 points, going 8-of-10 from the field, and grabbed eight rebounds, swatted a shot and stole the ball three times. Carvey would block two more shots versus Howard, totaling three blocks and three steals in the third week of MEAC action.
Carvey is tied at the top of the conference in blocks per game, alongside fellow Eagle Kelechi Okworogwo at 1.2 per game. He's also first in field goal percentage (.579) and second in rebounds (6.8).
The Eagles are home for the next two contests, hosting Delaware State on Saturday, Jan. 24 at 4:30 p.m., followed by next Monday's game against Maryland-Eastern Shore at 7 p.m.
