KANSAS CITY, Mo. – North Carolina Central's men's basketball team received recognition for the second straight year by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) for individual and team academic success during the 2024-25 season.

NCCU was one of nearly 400 programs to earn the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award. Teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher to be eligible for the award.

Eight Eagles were named to the NABC Honors Court, which recognizes juniors, seniors, and graduate students who finished with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher during the past season. Anthony Peoples Jr., Dionte Johnson, Gbenga Olubi, Isaac Parson, Josh Smith, Keishon Porter, Po'Boigh King and Timmy Adedire received this honor.

"The dedication and hard work of these athletes, along with their coaches and support staff members who prioritize academic success, deserves to be widely celebrated," said NABC Executive Director Craig Robinson.
