HARLEM, N.Y. – Though Timmy Adedire and Isaac Parson played their final game in a North Carolina Central uniform as a senior and graduate student, respectively, the duo has been selected to play at the historic Rucker Park in the third annual HBCU Allstar Dream Classic this summer.
The event takes place on August 9 in Harlem, N.Y. with gates opening at noon. A total of 40 men's and women's players from various HBCU basketball programs will compete in the classic. In attendance will be coaches from the G League and European Leagues, along with sports agents.
"The experience will be the merging of HBCU sports, education and traditions with streetball culture," as stated on the classic's website. "These exceptional athletes will represent the CIAA, MEAC, SIAC, SWAC, Gulf Coast, NAIA and independent conferences."
In addition to the Dream Classic games, the day kicks off with a women's 3v3 tournament, followed by step show performances, school supply giveaways, HBCU band performances, food trucks and much more. Some of the event sponsors include Slam, Wilson and Cirkul.
Adedire ended his senior campaign, appearing in all 33 games this past season with 16 starts. Some of his season-highs include 12 points (vs Delaware State), 8 rebounds (vs Coppin State) and 7 assists (vs Virginia-Lynchburg). Adedire was also a member of the MEAC All-Academic Team.
Parson joined the Eagles as a graduate student in 2024-25 after completing his undergraduate career at Winston-Salem State. While at NCCU, Parson played in 26 games and was a key sixth man off the bench. He reached 1,000 career points as an Eagle and led the MEAC in assists (4.2 per game) and assist-to-turnover ratio (2.1) most of the season. Pason received CSC Academic All-District honors and was selected to the MEAC All-Academic Team.
