Seeding Announced for MEAC Tournament; Eagles Are the No.6 Seed

NORFOLK, Va. – With the regular season completed, the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference announced the 2025 MEAC Basketball Tournament seeding with the NC Central men's basketball team earning the No.6 seed. The Eagles open play on Thursday, March 13 at the Norfolk Scope Arena with a scheduled tip for 8 p.m.

NCCU (13-18, 6-8 MEAC) will play No.3 Delaware State in the quarterfinals. Last season, the two teams met in the semifinals, and the Hornets advanced after a 71-58 win. Both squads split the regular season with home victories.

Joining the Eagles in the bottom half of the bracket is No.2 South Carolina State and No.7 Coppin State in a Wednesday quarterfinal. The top half of the bracket includes No.1 Norfolk State and No.8 Maryland Eastern Shore in another Wednesday quarterfinal and No.4 Howard and No.5 Morgan State for Thursday's first men's quarterfinal. All games from the first three days will be streamed on ESPN+.

The men's semifinals will be played on Friday, March 14 at 6 and 8 p.m. The championship game is scheduled for Saturday, March 15 at 1 p.m. and will be featured on ESPN2. The winner gets a spot in the NCAA Tournament.
