NCCU's King Named to All-MEAC Second Team

NORFOLK, Va. – Junior guard Po'Boigh King of NC Central's men's basketball team was named to the 2024-25 All-MEAC Second Team as voted on by the head coaches and sports information directors of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference announced Tuesday evening. This is the second straight season that King has received postseason conference honors. Last year he made the All-MEAC Third Team.

The Roanoke Rapids, N.C. native started every game and led the Eagles in scoring at a 16.5 points per game clip in the regular season, which was fifth best in the MEAC. King was also top-three on the team in steals (1.2) and assists (1.6) per game.

In the conference, King was ninth in field goal percentage (43.4 percent) and seventh in free throw percentage (78.5 percent). His season-highs include a 28-point game at Gardner-Webb, five three-pointers made at Winthrop, six rebounds on four separate occasions, four assists in three different games and five steals versus Carolina University.

NCCU opens play at the 2025 MEAC Basketball Tournament on Thursday, March 13 as the No.6 seed facing No.3 Delaware State in the quarterfinals at 8 p.m. at the Norfolk Scope Arena.
