HARRISONBURG, Va. – The North Carolina Central men's basketball team travels for the seventh time this season, looking for its first win away from McDougald-McLendon Arena. The Eagles face James Madison at the Atlantic Union Bank Center on Wednesday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m.

Series History: The Eagles and Dukes meet for the second time in their history. In 2009, the two programs played for the first time in the 2K Sports Classic, which benefited Coaches vs. Cancer. The game took place at Florida International's U.S. Century Bank Arena. NC Central fell 79-66. C.J. Wilkerson led the Eagles with 21 points, scoring 16 in the second half.
Last Time Out: NC Central continued its home streak, winning 109-61 versus Carolina University last Saturday. Six Eagles were in double figures, led by Khouri Carvey's 25 points on 12-of-17 shooting. NCCU dominated the paint, scoring 82 of its points inside, which was over 75 percent of the team's score. The Maroon and Gray held the CU Bruins to 36.5 percent from the field.
Scouting James Madison: The Dukes were on a three-game winning streak until they fell at George Mason, 82-66, last Saturday. James Madison has a trio of scorers in double figures, guided by Justin McBride (15.7), Bradley Douglas (14.3) and Cliff Davis (11.9). JMU is 29th in the nation in blocks per game (5.3), with Christian Brown holding the tenth spot with 21 total blocks this season. NCCU will be the second MEAC team that James Madison faces, as the Dukes have already played Coppin State. Norfolk State will be the final conference team to meet JMU.
Moton 500: LeVelle Moton has officially surpassed 500 coached games at the helm of the NCCU men's basketball program. This milestone was reached versus Toccoa Falls, in the sixth game of the season. Moton is first in games coached at NCCU, and second in seasons. Floyd Brown coached for 18 seasons, in 445 games.
Nationally Known: There are two Eagles in the top-25 of statistical categories in the nation. Gage Lattimore is 20th in free throws (48), 21st in three-point percentage (49.2) and ninth in minutes per game (36.2), points (177) and three-point field goals made (29). Dionte Johnson is eighth in assists (54), 24th in assists per game (6.0), sixth in steals (25) and 13th in steals per game (2.78). As a team, NCCU is 43rd in turnover margin (4.0) and 36th in steals per game (9.6) and turnovers forced per game (15.89).
MEAC Minute: For the second time, the Eagles have had an honoree named the MEAC Defensive Player of the Week. Dionte Johnson grabbed seven steals last week, including five against Carolina University. This is the first conference honor this season for the senior.
