DURHAM, N.C. – The North Carolina Central men's basketball team looks for its first victory after three road games the first week of the season. The Eagles will finally play at home, welcoming Bluefield State on Wednesday, Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. in McDougald-McLendon Arena.

Series History: The Eagles and Big Blue have met 22 times before, with NCCU winning every game. The last contest between the two was on Nov. 21, 2019, with a 68-44 victory for NC Central. Before that meeting, the two programs' last battle was in 1954.
Last Time Out: NC Central dropped a 76-54 contest at App State last Sunday. Gage Lattimore and Tekao Carpenter were the leading scorers, combining for 25 points. The Mountaineers went into the half with a 38-18 lead, as the Eagles ran out of time in the second half.
Familiar Face in the Nest: Head coach LeVelle Moton welcomes back a familiar face. Bluefield State's head coach, Luke D'Alessio, was once an assistant coach on Moton's staff. D'Alessio entered the Nest during the 2016-17 season, along with assistant Reggie Sharp. He stayed three seasons, eventually getting the job as the head coach at Fayetteville State. This will be D'Alessio's first game coaching the Big Blue.

The MEAC Minute: Two Eagles earned MEAC weekly honors after the first week of the season. Gage Lattimore was named MEAC Player of the Week after averaging 19.3 points, including a career-high performance at Virginia, with 25 points. Khouri Carvey earned MEAC Defensive Player of the Week recognition. Carvey had his first double-double as an Eagle against Virginia and averaged 14.7 points and 9.3 rebounds. Lattimore is third in the conference in scoring and first in three-point field goal percentage (52.9 percent). Carvey leads the conference in offensive, defensive and total rebounding average.
