FARMVILLE, Va. – In the finale of a three-game road trip, the North Carolina Central University men's basketball team travels to Longwood University on Saturday, Dec. 14 at 2 p.m. The Eagles competed in a home-and-home series with the Lancers last season as well, splitting the outcome.

NCCU BENCH
NC Central's first game this week was in Morgantown, W. Va. against West Virginia University. The Mountaineers came out on top 79-45 on Dec. 10. Redshirt senior guard Isaac Parson led NCCU in scoring with 16 points on 50 percent shooting.
The battle at Longwood will be the sixth time the Eagles have faced a Big South Conference opponent this season. Other than the Lancers, the Maroon & Gray have faced High Point, Radford, Winthrop and Gardner-Webb twice.
In the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, NCCU is second in three-pointers made per game (7.2) and first in three-point field goal defense percentage (29.2 percent). The Eagles continue to lead in turnover margin (+6.42), assist-to-turnover ratio (1.21) and steals per game (10.42).
NCCU is currently top-10 in three different NCAA statistical categories. The Eagles are ninth in steals per game, fifth in turnovers forced per game (18.08) and sixth in turnover margin. The Maroon & Gray are first in the MEAC in all three categories.
LONGWOOD BENCH
Longwood hasn't played since Dec. 8 defeating Mary Baldwin University 97-40. The Lancers held MBU to just 16 points in the first half. The team's leading scorer Michael Christmas had a game-high 17 points in just 17 minutes.
The Lancers have only lost to Kansas State and McNeese this season. Both games were played at the Paradise Jam during Thanksgiving. LU has also faced familiar MEAC foes with victories over Morgan State and Maryland-Eastern Shore.
In the Big South Conference, Longwood is third in offense (79.6 ppg) and second in defense holding opponents to 66.7 ppg. The Lancers are also receiving votes in the CollegeInsider.com Men's Mid-Major Top 25.
Statistically, LU is in the top-20 in four NCAA categories. The Lancers are 17th in bench points (34.35), 10th in free throw attempts per game (27.2), sixth in free throws made per game (20.5) and 15th in turnovers forced per game (16.82).
