DURHAM, N.C. – The North Carolina Central University volleyball team will conclude its regular season with its Senior Night match against Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) rival South Carolina State University on Friday at 6 p.m.

NC CENTRAL VOLLEYBALL
The Eagles are coming off a dramatic 3-2 home win against Norfolk State on Sunday. NC Central (6-18 Overall, 5-8 MEAC) is currently in sixth place in the league standings. The Eagles could move into a tie for fifth place in the league standings with a win and a Maryland Eastern Shore loss, but NCCU is locked in s the sixth seed for the MEAC Championship regardless because of the head-to-head tiebreaker.N
Freshman outside hitter
Kamren Harper ranks fifth in the MEAC with 2.66 kills per set. Classmate
Tori Wilson also averages over two kills per set (2.34) and sports a .231 hitting percentage and a team-best 54 blocks (0.63 blocks/set). Junior
Abby Vacha, who is averaging 1.59 kills per set in league play, is coming off a season-best 12 kill and 10 dig performance for her first double-double.
Sophomore libero
Loren Johnson ranks in the top-10 of the conference in two statistical categories. Johnson is third with 3.73 digs per set and seventh with 0.43 aces per set.
Sophomore setter
Vanila Pulu-Suliafu ranks fourth in the MEAC with 6.58 assists per set while sitting 10th in the league with 2.31 digs per set.
NC Central defeated SCSU 3-0 (25-11, 25-10, 25-10) on Oct. 2. The Eagles have won the last 15 matches against the Bulldogs, including currently 11 consecutive sweeps over the past five seasons. NCCU is 23-9 against SCSU in DI era (since 2007).
Harper led the victorious Eagles with 11 kills and five aces in that first triumph over the Bulldogs.
SOUTH CAROLINA STATE VOLLEYBALL
The Bulldogs lost their last two home games of the season last weekend, dropping straight-set matches to Norfolk State and Howard. South Carolina State (0-24 Overall, 0-13 MEAC) has only won one set in its first 24 matches this season and is locked in as the eighth-seed for the MEAC Championship next week.
SCSU only has two players averaging over one kill per set.
Junior Semira Fields, who played three seasons at Grambling State University, has taken over the team lead with 1.60 kills per set. Fields also is third on the team with 1.30 digs per set.
Junior Eleisha Thompson follows Fields with 1.03 kills per set and freshman Gabriella Panzetta averages nearly one kills per set (0.98). Panzetta, who leads the team with 0.60 blocks per set, had a team-best five kills and two blocks in the SCSU loss to NCCU on Oct. 2 in Orangeburg.
Junior transfer Siela Avea (Iowa Central CC) is listed as a hitter, but has been South Carolina State's primary setter by contributing 3.53 assists per set and 1.05 digs per set. Sophomore libero transfer Kiarra Rosales (Central State University) is chipping in a team-best 1.55 digs per set.
