DURHAM, N.C. – North Carolina Central enters the MEAC Volleyball Championship seeded fifth and will take on No. 4 Delaware State in a quarterfinal match on Thursday (Nov. 20) at 11 a.m. in Baltimore, Md. Their match will kick off the tournament hosted by Coppin State.
ESPN+ will livesteam every match in the tournament. Tickets are available online and on-site at the Physical Education Complex on the Coppin State campus. One-day admission tickets are $10 and weekend passes are $25.
The pairings were announced on Saturday after NCCU defeated South Carolina State 3-0 at home in the final conference match of the regular season. The Eagles (10-17 overall, 7-7 MEAC) finished in a three-way tie for fourth in the final MEAC standings. They gained the No. 5 seed through conference tiebreaking procedures.
NCCU split the regular-season series with Delaware State (11-17 overall, 7-7 MEAC), the defending conference champion. The Eagles took the first match 3-2 at home on Sept. 26 and lost the second meeting 3-0 in Dover, Del., on Oct. 24.
The NCCU-DSU winner will play either top seed Coppin State on No. 8 seed South Carolina State in Friday's semifinals at 5 p.m.
