OWENS CROSS ROADS, Ala. – Junior
Jalea Culliver and freshman
Sidney Renville notched a couple top-10 individual finishes for the North Carolina Central University women's golf team as the Eagles concluded competition for the fall semester at the Alabama A&M Golf Classic that was contested on Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 31-Nov. 1.
Culliver had the only round in the 70s for the Eagles on a tough 6,070-yard, par-72 layout at Robert Trent Jones (RTJ) Golf Trail at Hampton Cove. Culliver finished in a tie for fourth place out of 27 golfers with rounds of 85 and 79. Her 20-over par total of 164 was just four strokes more than the medalists winning score as nobody in the field was able to break 80 in both rounds of the two-day event that was shortened from 54 to 36 holes due to fog on Tuesday.
Renville had NCCU's best score in the first round, signing for an 82. She added an 86 in the second round to finish in sole possession of seventh place with her sum of 168.
Sophomore
Zoe Key (96-93—189), senior

Prairie View A&M University won the team title while Alabama State's Thayia Kittiyanaruewat won the individual title with a score of 85-75—160.
NC Central will announce the spring portion of its schedule in the upcoming weeks.
