DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Junior
Kendall Wallace was the only Eagle to post all three of his rounds in the 70s on his way to recording the best result for the North Carolina Central University men's golf team at the Daytona Beach Intercollegiate hosted by Stetson University on Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 24-25.
Wallace fired a pair of 76s around a 79 on the 7,042-yard, par-72 Hills Course layout at LPGA Internationally. Wallace finished in a tie for 40th place out of 72 golfers with his 15-over par total of 231.
Senior
Daniel Barbare was NCCU's overnight leader after carding scores of 76 and 78 on Monday, but he slipped 13 positions in the individual leaderboard with an 82 on Tuesday.
Junior
Trey Morse (76-84-79) and freshman
Kyle Gregory (79-79-88) both signed for two rounds in the 70s while freshman
Kobe Narcisse (90-89-87) had one counting score for the Eagles.
NCCU finished in 13th place in the team standings. The host Hatters won the team title by 52 strokes over second-place Florida A&M University as Stetson had the top four individual performances.
NC Central will conclude the fall semester portion of its schedule at the Alabama A&M Golf Classic on Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 31-Nov. 1.
