NCCU Baseball Visits Duke in Midweek Contest

DURHAM, N.C. – The North Carolina Central University baseball program will start a lengthy seven-game road swing with a midweek contest at Duke on Tuesday, March 16 at the Durham Athletic Park.
 
NCCU (8-5) and Duke (6-6) have been scheduled to meet at least once in every season since 2008, however, the two sides didn't play for the first time in 13 seasons last year after the 2020 campaign was cut short due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Scouting the Eagles:
NCCU is currently 8-5 after its weekend series with ETSU and is getting ready to embark on a seven-game road swing, which will be the second-longest road trek of the season.  Tristan Shea (Charlotte, N.C.) stood out at the plate during the series with the Buccaneers as he batted .455 with five hits and two doubles, and drove in two RBI.  Shea is currently batting .400 and slugging .467 in 10 games and eight starts this year.
 
Scouting the Blue Devils:
Duke is 6-6 to start the year, and will be playing for the first time since March 9 after its last weekend series was postponed.  RJ Schreck (Los Angeles, Calif.) is one of the Blue Devils top hitters, and has the sixth-best batting average in the ACC at .415.  He also leads the team in slugging percentage (.707), and RBI (14), and has knocked three doubles and three triples.
