DURHAM, N.C. — The North Carolina Central University volleyball team will recognize its senior class of six just prior to its regular season finale when the Eagles host Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) rival South Carolina State University on Friday, Nov. 12, at 6 p.m.

NC CENTRAL COURT:
The Eagles are coming off a 3-1 road win at Norfolk State on Sunday. NCCU (9-13 Overall, 8-5 MEAC) is tied for third place in the league standings with Coppin State University.
Janok, a five-time MEAC Setter of the Week, continues to lead the MEAC with 8.87 assists per set. She has 12 double-doubles on the season and also ranks ninth in the MEAC in two statistical categories with averages of 2.84 digs and 0.33 aces per set.
The senior duo of
Arlanda Faulkner and
Ammaarah Williams are fourth and fifth, respectively, in the league with averages of over three kills per set apiece. They both had a double-double in Sunday's triumph over the Spartans. Williams has five on the season and Faulkner has four. Williams also ranks third in the MEAC with 1.00 blocks per set and fourth in the conference with a .308 hitting percentage.

McKayla Young in Friday's Senior Night presentation. Young has been with the program for five years and other five Eagles are all four-year letter winners at NCCU.
NCCU knocked off S.C. State, 3-0, in the first meeting this season on Oct. 1 in Orangeburg. South Carolina. The Eagles hit .320 in that match with Janok providing 33 assists, seven kills and four digs. NC Central has won 13 straight against the Lady Bulldogs and 21-9 against SCSU in its modern era.
SOUTH CAROLINA STATE COURT:
The Bulldogs are in search of their first win of the season and first since Sept. 28, 2018 (71-match losing streak). South Carolina State (0-22 Overall, 0-13 MEAC) just won its first set of the season in its last match against MEAC co-leader Howard University on Sunday.
Junior transfer Maria Julia Vedovatto Loureiro, who played her first two seasons at Missouri State University-West Plains, has taking over the team on the attack. She is averaging a team-best 2.55 kills to go along with averages of 1.88 digs and 0.28 aces per set. Senior Gabrielle Wells, who previously played at Johnson C. Smith, is the only other Bulldog averaging over one kill per set. Freshmen Kayleigh Sullivan and Kendal Rivera have taken over the setting duties at SCSU, averaging 4.47 and 2.51 assists per set, respectively. Freshman Kendal Rivera tops the Bulldogs with 1.89 digs per set.
