LOUISVILLE – North Carolina Central University continued its three-game road swing at top-five ranked Louisville, and the Cardinals picked up an 87-58 victory inside the KFC YUM! Center on Sunday, Nov. 17.
NCCU (1-3) stayed close with Louisville (3-0) at the start of the contest but the Eagles found the goals unkind with just a pair of made threes. While the Eagles were cold from the floor, the Cardinals knocked down over 65 percent of their shots in the first half on the way to a 43-19 lead at the half.
NCCU had better success from the field in the second half with four three-pointers and 13 made free throws, but the hosts stayed hot from the floor as Louisville shot 66.7 percent from the field as a team during the contest on the way to an 87-58 final tally.
Randy Miller Jr. (Odenton, Md.) posted a team-high 15 points for the maroon and gray, and
Jibri Blount (Pittsburgh, Pa.) had an even game with eight points and eight rebounds.
Jordan Perkins (Greensboro, N.C.) dished out a team-best four assists with nine points, and
Justin Whatley (Chesapeake, Va.) knocked down a season-best three triples for nine points as well.
Jordan Nwora (Buffalo, N.Y.) was one of four Cardinals in double-digits as he recorded a game-high 17 points, and Steven Enoch (Norwalk, Conn.) was strong inside with 15 points and five rebounds.
