DURHAM, N.C. – North Carolina Central University cheerleader
Keyla Lewis-Fleming has been named the NCCU Student-Athlete of the Month for August 2018 in recognition of her outstanding accomplishments on the sidelines, in the classroom and in the community.
A native of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Lewis-Fleming is in her fourth year as a member of the NCCU varsity cheerleading squad and is a team captain this season.
She boasts an overall grade point average (GPA) of 3.48, majoring in community health education.
Lewis-Fleming's numerous leadership efforts include being a SOAR Leader, a student coordinator for new student and family programs and being a member of SOPHE (Society of Future Heath Educators). She was named NCCU Miss Champagne for 2017-18.
