DURHAM, N.C. – North Carolina Central University has clinched a 20-win season for the third consecutive season with a 7-2 win over Presbyterian on Tuesday, April 3 at the Durham Athletic Park.
 
This is the fifth time in the modern era that NCCU (20-11) that the Eagles have crossed the 20-win plateau.
 
The Eagles took an early lead over Presbyterian (9-21) by scoring five runs in the first three innings to take a 5-0 advantage.  NCCU scored two runs in the first two frames before 
Andrew Valichka (Pedricktown, N.J.) bounced a solo homer off the warehouse in right-center in the third inning to cement the lead.
 
NCCU used five pitchers during the contest and held the Blue Hose off the board through the first seven innings before getting two runs on solo home runs in the eighth and ninth innings.
 
Corey Joyce (Lexington, N.C.) had his 14th multi-hit and ninth multi-RBI game of the year as he had three hits and three RBI, including an RBI double in the seventh.  Both 
Zach Michalski (Belews Creek, N.C.) and Valichka had two RBI each to round out the scoring for the Eagles.
 
A.J. Priaulx (Warner Robbins, Ga.) and Andrw Bladt (Longmont, Colo.) knocked home runs for the Blue Hose.
 
NCCU returns to the road on Friday, April 6 to begin a three-game, three-day series with George Washington.
