North Carolina Central University Athletics

2018:  Made 17 appearances with eight starts and two wins.  Pitched 43.2 innings with one save and 34 strikeouts.  Won the first two starts of his career consecutively, including a career-best outing of six innings with seven strikeouts against NJIT (Feb. 23).  Picked up his first save at NCCU in the season-finale against UNC Asheville (May 9) by throwing a spotless final frame.  Made four appearances without allowing a hit, and eight appearances without allowing an earned run.  Named MEAC All-Academic.

2017:  Made a team-high 28 appearances which was the second most in the league and tied for the most in a single-season in the modern era at NCCU.  Pitched 36.1 innings and struck out 33 batters.  Made 14 appearances without an earned run, including a run of five-straight appearances.  Also made 11 appearances without allowing a hit.  Made his longest appearance of the year when he pitched 3.1 innings with three strikeouts as the pitcher of record against Norfolk State (April 26).

Southeast Community College (2015-16): Made 30 appearances with 18 starts over two years with an 11-4 record and one save.  Collected 114 strikeouts with a 3.97 ERA over 106.2 innings pitched.

Personal: Born Jan. 17, 1996 in Rota Cadiz, Spain.  Parents are Joe and Rose McCort.  Enjoys hiking, reading, watching movies, and making his family and friends proud.  Majoring in behavioral and social sciences with a minor in biology at NCCU.
