STARTING FIVE:
1. NCCU's six-game win streak is the current longest active streak in North Carolina.
2. NCCU is on a six-game win streak for the first time since a 13-game run during the 2016-17 season from Jan. 11 to Feb. 25.
3. NCCU is 4-0 in MEAC play for the first time since the 2014-15 season when the Eagles went undefeated in league play.
4. Coach Moton is 90-27 all-time in regular season MEAC play.
5. NCCU is looking for its fourth regular season MEAC title in the last five seasons.
SCOUTING THE BISON:
Howard has fallen in its last four games and is looking for its first conference win. R.J. Cole has been remarkable in his freshman season, averaging 23.1 points per game along with a team-best 6.0 assists. The Bison lost a nail-biter to Savannah State, 90-91 last time out, but Cole and Charles Williams both volunteered 27 points, and Ibrahim Dosunmu pulled a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds.

SCOUTING THE HAWKS:
Maryland Eastern Shore has dropped its last three games, and heads into the weekend 1-4 in MEAC play. Logan McIntosh is a leader for the Hawks as he's currently averaging 11.3 points per game, along with 4.4 rebounds and 4.5 assists per outing. McIntosh contributed 13 points in the 62-66 loss to South Carolina State.
SERIES: NCCU leads, 24-16.
COMING UP ACES
NCCU currently leads the MEAC in six categories after a strong showing during the non-conference schedule. The Eagles are tops in the league in scoring margin (+5.6), points allowed per game (68.8), field goal percentage (48.3), three-point percentage (36.8), rebounding margin (+4.9), rebounds allowed per game (32,0).
ROOKIE RANKING
Freshmen Reggie Gardner, Jr. and
Jordan Perkins have found their way into the starting lineup, and are the first freshmen to start for the Eagles since
C.J. Wiggins during the 2015-16 season. Gardner and Perkins are both statistically ranked within the MEAC, as well. Gardner is top-20 in scoring with an average of 11.1 points per game and is a volume shooter from the perimeter, ranking seventh in threes per game with 2.3. Perkins has taken on his role as a point guard and is fifth in the league in assists with 4.5 per outing and is fourth in assist-to-turnover ratio with a positive 1.8.
